2017 Superboat International National Championships - Clearwater, Florida

Wake Effects and Instigator/AMH Construction repeat as National Champions, Performance Boat Center as well as FJ Propeller win their classes.

In sundays four-mile oval liquid race track there were three separate multi class races.

Instigator/AMH construction had a very dominant victory over the #43 Outerlimits throttled by Steve Curtis and drived by Joe Sgro. The dynamic duo of Peter Mayer and Johnny had another win and the national points title.

In a dominant performance by Gary Ballough and driver Jimmie Harrison in

the Superstock class FJ Propellers took the first place win.

Despite the mechanical issues in the Wake Effects MTI in the Superboat Unlimited class and even though the broke early in sundays race the team composed of driver Rusty Rahm and throttleman Jeff Harris still earned the National Championship, the team had a dominating season and held the points lead coming into the contest in Clearwater, FL.

Team CRC with throttleman Mike DeFrees and driver Gary Ballough took the first place win, the #18 Victory hull with rookie driver Andy Stobart and throttleman Billy Moore took second and Miss Geico took third place with Steve Curtis in the throttles and driver James Sheppard.
