2015 Englewood Beach OPA Championship Race
I finally got to attend an Offshore Racing Association race and it was worth it. I really enjoyed the organization, the friendly staff, boat racing and the live commentary . It was nice to see boats that I have seen in publications and videos race and of course it was nice to see again boats that I have had the opportunity to race in the Superboat International races. There are 10 boat classes in the OPA which makes a diverse racing organization so there is a lot of action and racing to see and enjoy. I attended the Sunday raceday and the weather was perfect. The sea conditions were decent with a light chop so most of the boats obtained higher speed and less jumps but overall it was pretty good racing. I really wanted to see Miss Geico race but they 2015 race season was not a good one, it was a down season for the former championship team as Scott Begovich told me. I wish them the best and hopefully thet can rebound during the 2016 race season. I look forward to attending more OPA races in the future.
